Specializing in Depression and Anxiety with Teens and Adults
Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy is not easily described. It varies from therapist to therapist and their particular approaches.
Therapy with me will involve a collaborative approach, and depending on the concerns that you bring, can focus on meeting specific objectives similar to a coach or be more open ended to discover what is unknown. I am here to help you work through your psychic ache using a variety of techniques and experience.
It is hard to determine how long therapy will take for each person, my goal is to always help you become confident in your abilities to manage independently. When starting therapy with me, my recommendation is starting with weekly sessions, and depending on your needs, they may increase or decrease over the time we work together.
Family Therapy
Sometimes parents and guardians can be at a loss with what to do for their teenager when they are struggling emotionally. Oftentimes they look outside the family for solutions. With family therapy, the solution is the family.

We work on building confidence in both the patient and parent(s) or guardian(s) so that both sides feel secure in managing the challenges that arise.

Family sessions may happen in conjunction with individual therapy or remain solely family sessions until goals are reached.
Art Therapy
I am also a registered and trained Art Therapist. This method is often most beneficial for those who have difficulty articulating their inner experience or want a different way of exploring things.
Art Therapy allows a patient to participate in their own treatment through the creative process of art making. It is based on the belief that the language of visual arts – colors, shapes, lines, texture and images – can speak to us in ways that words cannot. Imagery can help people solve problems, gain insight, release powerful emotions, and recover from traumatic losses and experiences.
